SafeMate is a digital emergency management system, providing paramedics access to your vital medical information in the event of an emergency. Once you have your SafeMate Kit, you enter your medical and personal information on our website. Your data is encrypted and kept secure in our database. First responders will be able to scan your SafeMate QR code, receive this information immediately and be able to provide the appropriate treatment.
You should provide SafeMate with your basic personal details (name, age, gender) and any other health or medical information you would like to communicate to paramedics in the event of an emergency.
Yes. Your personal and medical information can be updated at any time by logging into your SafeMate account at getsafemate.com/login.
Yes. You can enlist the help of someone you trust by providing them with your account details and password.
At this stage only the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics are able to access SafeMate devices (mobile coverage dependent). We are currently working on securely providing our services across Australia.
ICE (In Case of Emergency) data is not encrypted. In contrast, all the information input on SafeMate’s servers is privacy protected and can only be accessed by paramedics and those you have pre-selected. We are also endorsed by Queensland Ambulance Services, so you know you’re in good hands.
SafeMate is a unique health service, encrypting your personal and medical information. The $10 monthly or $96 yearly charge goes towards providing this service and financing its necessity of use.

SafeMate utilises a combination of online and offline security technologies, procedures and organisational measures to help safeguard consumer information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.
We employ Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) data encryption when data is transmitted over the internet to our website and have installed layered firewalls and other security technologies to help prevent unauthorised access to our systems. A password is required each time you login to your SafeMate account. You’ll also be prompted to upload a photo of yourself so that you are easily identifiable in an emergency situation.
